The return policy is unfortunate and won’t be using this website again because of that. They say to try the shoes on in a carpeted space and if they are ‘used’ they can’t be returned. The fit felt fine at first. Did a 30 mile ride and felt okay, few days later did a 45 mile ride and started to develop intense pain in my right ankle. Took 4 days off from riding. While doing that I played with cleat position, tried to massage the shoe to losses it up and swapped insoles. Did another 30 mile ride and again had intense pain in my right ankle. I would have been happy to get a store credit but the website doesn’t offer that as an option. I’ll continue my search for new shoes on websites that stand behind their products. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to know if a 200$ shoe will work for me without pedaling in them for a few hours. For reference, I’ve been biking for 10 years and put on 3-5 thousands miles a year. Using my old shoes stopped the pain and fortunately was able to do the next event on my calendar.
This is my 6th pair of Northwave shoes, for some reason this is the most comfortable and perfect pair I've worn. They fit like a glove.
A good quality cycling shoes. Best value for your money.
This shoe is very attractive and functions well. The two boa dials are nice to customize the fit. Light weight shoe, can feel the air coming into the shoe to help my feet breathe. Substantial stiffness upgrade from my prior shoe (Lake CX138). My only question is "how durable will these be?" Only time will answer that question, as they appear to be a less durable upper than the Lake shoes I've worn and will keep around for bad condition riding this winter. Maybe I'm wrong though. Maybe they're a very durable upper which is disguised as a beautiful upper.
