The shoe has a great dial and release mechanism. This is what sold me on the previous Rev 2. The silver reflective is a good safety feature during the daytime and night. I use Speedplay pedals, so the adapter provides a good solid base for the pedal cleat. If I could improve on the shoe, I would have the "toe guard" wrap around toe about 18mm each side and 8mm high overall to keep tire from "burning" the shoe material upon contact. Short wheelbase and race geometry is the issue here. Above all, I do prefer all things Italian as the fit and style suits me.
Northwave makes the best cycling shoes and didn't stop with the Revolution 3. Toe box has plenty of room to feel confident in putting power to the pedals without jamming your toes. The dual enclosures makes things easy for finding the perfect amount of comfort and purpose. Foot shank is very stiff, yet the rest of the shoe has right amount of flex. Other brands offer this level of shoe at a much higher price. Grateful that Northwave doesn't follow the same business model. Having to live on a tighter budget, this shoe was exactly what I was looking for that fit my bottom line.
The shoe is stiff and light and my go to shoe for riding now. Would definitely buy again. Please make more of your shoes in larger sizes!
I have 2 pairs of NW in size 43.5 which fit perfectly. It seems they are limiting the half sizes to just a few models now so I had to go up to size 44. The sizing chart is a bit misleading however, in that it makes it seem like the size 44 is now 28cm (its actually 28.4 which you will only find out upon receiving the box).
The chart is showing the FOOT size, not the size of the shoe. Confusing, and it would be helpful to have the SHOE size information available as it appears on the box.
Anyway, the fit is a little big because of this, but usable. (The shoe itself is spectacular). However, I doubt I would buy another pair unless the 28cm size returns...
I love the shoes but Northwave sent the wrong and are unresponsive to my email. Just hope you don't have any problems with your order!
