This new winter shoe is developed for all trail types. Also suggested for e-biking and commuting. The Gore-Tex® Koala membrane guarantees excellent breathability with total water and wind resistance, guaranteeing maximum comfort during winter days. The Explorer sole ensures excellent power transmission to the pedal area and the Michelin rubber tread, 28% stronger than the TPU, guarantees excellent grip on all terrains. The upper has the Overlap construction, made with the most innovative materials, which uniformly wraps the foot without any pressure point, helping to transfer every watt of power and eliminating the dispersion of energy. The toe is reinforced in TPU; an easy and even closure system is guaranteed by the SLW3 dial, the only one with a step-by-step release, which allows a millimetric adjustment of the shoe in a quick and intuitive way. The new Easyfit collar combines the extreme elasticity of the Lycra with the high thermal insulation of the Neoprene, increasing mobility and protection. The wrapping and positioning of the heel are enabled by a solid thermoformed buttress, in addition to the Arctic 4Layer insole built-in Eva + Aluminum + Eva + Pile, which ensures excellent thermal insulation. For added safety, the 360° Reflective inserts guarantee excellent visibility on the road.
I wear size 14 and finding biking shoes can be difficult. Bought 49 and they are a nice fit with room for a heavyweight sock. Which brings me to my next point; I read reviews about how warm these shoes are and it took me a few rides to get sock and fit right. These shoes do breathe. My feet usually stay warm during outdoor activity so I was worried they might be too warm in this shoe. That's not the case, I wear a heavyweight sock to stay warm (if it's under 30 degrees). The other thing is to stay warm I wear them pretty tight, just click back a couple notches from being uncomfortable. Like anything you find what works but it took a couple rides. Now they're dialed and are very comfortable. Absolutely no problem with water or wind. Putting them on the first time was a little struggle but again, you figure out what works and you can't hurt them. They have pulls on the collar (front and back) and once your heel starts to slide in your good. Next points; collar, I like it - it works. Closure/dial system - great. Tread - I use flat pedals and not afraid to hike my bike - very happy with tread, sticky on pedal, grippy in mud and snow. Explorer Sole - it's real, has a great feel on pedal and not bad to walk around in. These shoes have a different feel and style from what I'm used to but I'm very happy with my purchase.
